Point Betsie volunteers bring Great Lakes history to life for our guests!
Shifts & Roles
Volunteers help Point Betsie visitors as tour guides in the lighthouse and the Boathouse Museum, and with merchandise and purchases in the gift shop. If you’d rather work behind the scenes, you can help with educational programs, mailings, facility or yard maintenance, or other jobs that help us keep the Point Betsie Lighthouse a treasured destination for locals and visitors.
Volunteer shifts are typically two and a half hours and as often as you want to help from May through September or early October. Docents may be asked to stand for long periods, climb the tower steps, or walk our grounds. Grounds volunteers may help set up for events, pull weeds, trim shrubs, or sweep sidewalks.
Point Betsie is a great place to meet all kinds of people, immerse yourself in our local history, and enjoy a spectacular view while helping your community.
If you’d like to volunteer, please contact us at 231-352-7644, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
